Senator Bernie Sanders joined Democratic rival and presumptive presidential nominee Joe Biden via live stream Monday to announce his endorsement of the former Vice President.
Sanders told voters, “Today I am asking all Americans, I’m asking every Democrat, every independent, and I’m asking a lot of Republicans, to come together and support [Joe Biden’s] campaign.”
Sanders echoed his past sentiments that Donald Trump is the “most dangerous president in the history of this country.”
Senator Sanders was criticized for his endorsement of Hillary Clinton in 2016, which many viewed as being too little, too late.
The Vermont senator’s quick endorsement signals his acknowledgment of the urgency of the moment we are now in.
Bernie has long touted his campaign slogan, “Not me, us.” Today, he’s fulfilled that promise.
