The NFL’s Former Chief Communication Officer Joe Lockhart has been one of President Trump’s harshest critics on Twitter. On Friday night, Lockhart, once again, took his (Twitter) gloves off and sent a number of scathing tweets about President Trump, his handling of the pandemic, and specifically about breaking news that the Trump campaign was secretly paying Eric Trump’s wife Lara Trump and Don Jr’s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle $180,000 each a year.
According to reports citing GOP sources, Lara Trump and Kimberly Guilfoyle are each receiving $15,000 per month through the campaign manager’s private company to dodge FEC rules. The payments are being made by campaign manager Bradley Parscale, through his company, rather than directly by either the campaign or the party, in order to avoid public reporting requirements, GOP sources said.
Twitter user Maryanne Chisholm posted a Huffington Post article with the headline: “Trump Campaign Secretly Paying $180,000 A Year To His Sons’ Significant Others.” Lockhart retweeted this article with the comment: “it’s the oldest profession in the world.” The insinuation that Trump’s sons’ significant others were receiving untoward compensation for engaging “in the oldest profession in the world” needs little explanation.
Joe Lockhart’s controversial tweet comes on the same day that his successor at the NFL, Jocelyn Moore, is leaving the league after less than two years on the job, according to a memo obtained by Sports Business Daily. No reason was given other than “to pursue other opportunities.”
