MeidasTouch Legal Analyst Ben Meiselas interviews Daniel Uhlfelder who made national headlines today dressing as the grim reaper at the opening of Florida beaches. Uhlfelder is a second generation Floridian and attorney who studied at Stanford undergraduate and Miami Law, and has long been an advocate fighting for the public’s right to access beaches in Florida.
Uhlfelder tells MeidasTouch that despite his long advocacy for public access to beaches, he dressed as the Grim Reaper at the beach today, in the conservative Walter County, to symbolize the deaths and devastation Governor DeSantis has and will cause Floridian’s by prematurely opening beaches and the state when it is not safe to do so.
Uhlfelder also explained that he had recently made a public records request to the Governor for information relating to COVID and received an invoice for $50,000.00 Uhfelder explained that he has pursued litigation, public records requests, and public advocacy to fight for the safety of Floridians.
Meiselas and Uhlfelder also discuss the importance of grassroots legal advocacy during these challenging times.
