Conservative “intellectual” Ben Shapiro made shockwaves Wednesday after he pondered the differences between letting children and the elderly die of COVID-19.
On the Rubin Report YouTube show, Mr. I-Wouldn’t-Kill-Baby-Hitler said, “If somebody who is 81 dies of COVID-19, that is not the same thing as somebody who is 30 dying of COVID-19… If grandma dies in a nursing home at age 81, that’s tragic and it’s terrible, also the life expectancy in the United States is 80.”
His comments quickly went more viral than a nursing home run by Ben Shapiro.
Shapiro previously railed against supposed Obama “death panels,” a debunked right-wing notion that the Affordable Care Act allowed for bureaucrats to decide who lives and who dies. Oddly, the “pro-life” Shapiro now feels comfortable in his role as judge, jury and executioner.
Shapiro is know for his phrase “facts don’t care about your feelings,” so let’s break down a few quick facts.
The U.S. has now reached over 60,000 deaths from COVID–19, marking more deaths in just a few months than those incurred during the entirety of the 20-year Vietnam War.
Our country also ranks 43rd in the world in testing per capita.
Meanwhile, the president still insists that the virus “is gonna be eradicated,” echoing his statements made months ago that “like a miracle [coronavirus] will disappear.”
With no coherent plan in place, and deaths rising by the day, Shapiro is ready to throw facts aside, consequences be damned.
Sorry Granny, Ben needs a haircut.
