Trump Says He Was Being “Sarcastic” After Suggesting Injecting Disinfectant to Cure Coronavirus

President Trump is already walking back the statements he made Thursday in which he suggested health officials should look into whether injecting disinfectant would be an effective way to cure coronavirus.

His excuse? It was just a prank, bro!

“I was asking a sarcastic [sic] – in a very sarcastic question to the reporters in the room just like you just to see what would happen,” the president claimed Friday morning.

Ah yes, the President of the United States was simply pushing a deadly “miracle cure” in the midst of a pandemic just to get a rise out of reporters. HILARIOUS!

For a president who thrives on gaslighting the public, this pathetic attempt doesn’t even rise to the level.

Aside from the fact that it’s pure insanity, the video clearly shows Trump earnestly asking Dr. Birx the question, who sinks into her seat in abject horror. Her expression has since become the subject of viral memes.

At the end of the day, whether he was joking or serious (he was serious), we’re not sure which is worse. Donald Trump’s utter incompetence is once again putting lives at risk.
