Turns Out Killing Granny for the Dow Not as Popular as Republicans Thought: POLL

Trump Handling of Coronavirus Plummets Among Elderly

A poll released Tuesday by Morning Consult shows that support for Trump’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak among voters aged 65+ has dropped 20 points in the last month. Trump’s support from the elderly is now lower than that of any age group other than 18-29 year olds.

The news comes after a barrage of right-wing politicians and media figures called for the reopening of the economy – even if that meant putting the lives of our elderly and most vulnerable at risk.

Last week on MeidasTouch, we showed multiple examples of this heartless shift in rhetoric by the right.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham told viewers, “Many are willing to take the risk of contracting the virus.”

Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick told Tucker Carlson that seniors should be willing to die from coronavirus to maintain the economy.

Fox News analyst Brit Hume echoed these statements, saying that it’s an “entirely reasonable viewpoint” to expect that seniors would be willing to die to protect the economy.

It turns out that killing granny for the Dow is not as popular a viewpoint as right-wing figures thought.

Shocking, we tell you.
